Let me say from the outset that, after 35 years, I still love what I do.  I am always grateful for the people I interact with on a daily basis.  It is my pleasure to be of service.  The most favorite and rewarding part of my job is helping candidates achieve where they want to be, and I am humbled by the accolades and testimonials that I receive.  Most of the candidates I deal with are truly professional, I enjoy speaking with them, and encourage them to stay focused on their job search.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of service to you.

A Great Background Does Not Equal A Great Resume

As I do on a regular basis, I am compelled to write candidates when I feel that their resume is doing them an injustice. 99.9% of the candidates respond by saying thank you and they look to revise their resumes to improve their chances of securing an interview.  Then there are those who think differently.

MISLEADING YOUR RECRUITER

Do Not Mislead Your Recruiter

My database consists of over 5000 resumes.  I generally delete most at the end of each year if they are four years or older.  Many candidates generally send me updated resumes from time to time and I will store them in my database if I cannot help them at that moment.  It amazes me the number of times I have caught candidates sending me resumes which are different than the ones they sent four years ago.  Some people have a tendency to conveniently remove a particular job and squeeze dates together to make the background look cleaner.  Or they will load the resume up with junk to try and distract me from the overall message.  Or they will send a resume indicating that they are currently employed when they have been unemployed for eight months.  Let me offer this advice – don’t misrepresent your background. Your integrity will be questioned immediately.  And when we present your background to the hiring manager and he/she finds out during the interview that you have not been forthright on your career history or dates of employment/termination -you…are…done.
